The Seven Deadly Sins
A Scottish Opera and Company Chordelia co-production
Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s sassy 1930s satire is a remarkable fusion of opera,
dance and theatre. Director Kally Lloyd-Jones won a coveted Herald Angel Award in
2011 for her vibrant take on their cutting critique of capitalism.
Setting the action in a 1930s film studio, this sharp, sexy show embodies both the glamour,
and the desperation, of the time. Each performance is also preceded by rarely seen
documentary film footage, setting the scene for the gritty period style of the piece.
